What is Experience Design?
Great software feels obvious to use. Experience Design turns research and strategy into interfaces people understand instantly - from user research and information architecture through wireframes, visual design and reusable design systems.

The difference Experience Design makes
Practical outcomes, not just activity. Here is what you actually walk away with once Experience Design is in place - and how we make sure it pays for itself.
Grounded in research
We design for how your users actually think and behave - not guesses - so the product just makes sense.
Interfaces people love
Clear, considered design turns first-time visitors into confident, repeat users.
Consistent at scale
A reusable design system keeps every screen coherent and speeds up everything you build next.
Is Experience Design right for you?
Experience Design is for teams who sense their product could be clearer, easier and more enjoyable to use - and want that grounded in real users, not guesswork or personal taste. It's a good fit when:
- ✓Users get confused, drop off, or need hand-holding to finish a task
- ✓Your interfaces have grown inconsistent, built ad-hoc by different people
- ✓You're scaling design and need a system so everything stays coherent
- ✓You want to validate an idea with real users before committing to build it
- ✓The product works, but it doesn't feel good to use - and it shows

A clear, low-risk process
No black boxes and no surprises. You see working progress at every step - from the first call through design, build and launch - and always know exactly what comes next.
Discover
We dig into your goals, users and constraints - and agree exactly what success looks like, and how we'll measure it, before any work begins.
Design
We map the solution end to end - architecture, flows and scope - so everyone knows what we're building, and why, before we build it.
Build
We deliver in short, visible iterations with working software every week, so you see real progress and can steer as we go.
Launch & support
We ship to production, measure the results against your goals, and keep improving - you're never left with something half-finished.

Do you only design, or can you build it too?
We can do both. Design sits naturally alongside our Product Development team, so what gets designed is exactly what gets built - no 'lost in translation' gap between a pretty mockup and the real thing.
If you already have engineers, we design in a way that hands off cleanly to them, with the details and assets they actually need.
What's a design system, and do we really need one?
A design system is a reusable library of components and rules - buttons, forms, spacing, colours, patterns - plus guidance on how to use them. Think of it as the shared vocabulary your product is built from.
If you're only ever making a screen or two, you can skip it. But the moment you're building and maintaining something real, a system keeps everything consistent and makes every future screen much faster to create.
How involved will our team be?
Closely, and deliberately so. We design with you, not just for you - through research, regular reviews and prototypes you can react to. The best results come from combining your knowledge of the business with our craft.
We keep the involvement focused on the moments that matter, so it feels collaborative rather than like a second job.
Why start with research instead of jumping straight to designs?
Because designing without understanding your users is just expensive guessing. A little research up front - watching how people actually behave, where they struggle, what they're really trying to do - saves a lot of redesigning later.
It doesn't have to be heavy or slow. Even a lightweight round of research usually changes the design in ways that noticeably improve the end result.
What are wireframes and prototypes for?
Wireframes are the plan - structure and flow before any visual polish - so we can agree how something should work before sweating how it looks. Prototypes make that clickable, so you (and your users) can actually try it.
It's far cheaper to change a prototype than to change built software, so this is where we catch confusing flows and fix them before they cost engineering time.
Will good design actually move the numbers?
Often, yes - though we're careful not to over-promise. Clearer flows tend to lift the things you care about: more people finishing sign-up, fewer support tickets, higher completion of key tasks.
We design with those goals in mind, and where you can measure them you'll usually see the difference. Good design isn't decoration; it's removing the friction between someone and what they came to do.
Can you work with our existing brand and visual style?
Yes. If you have a brand, we design within it and extend it thoughtfully into the product. If you don't, or it's thin, we can help shape one as part of the work.
Either way the aim is a product that feels unmistakably like you - consistent with everything else your customers see.
How do you make sure the design is usable, not just pretty?
By testing it with real people, not just admiring it ourselves. We put prototypes in front of users, watch where they hesitate or go wrong, and refine based on what actually happens rather than what we hoped would.
Accessibility is part of that too - designing so the product works well for as many people as possible, not just the ideal user on the ideal device.
How is design work priced?
We scope it with you and quote clearly - whether that's a defined piece like a focused redesign or a design system, or a broader engagement from discovery through to final UI. You'll know the shape of it before we begin.
If you're not sure how much you need, we can start with research and a plan, then decide together how far to take it.
We're not sure what our product needs design-wise - can you help figure that out?
Definitely - that's a common and sensible starting point. We'll look at your product and your users, find where the real friction and inconsistency are, and tell you honestly where design effort would pay off most.
You'll get a clear, prioritised view, and it's fine to start with the highest-impact area rather than redesigning everything at once.
