Cloud Engineering
Reliable, scalable infrastructure you can trust.
What is Cloud Engineering?
Infrastructure should be invisible - fast, secure and always on. Cloud Engineering designs, builds and maintains the foundation your software runs on, from architecture and deployment pipelines to monitoring, backups and cost control.
Cloud architecture, server setup, migration, containerisation, deployment pipelines, monitoring, backup, and performance optimisation.
The difference Cloud Engineering makes
Practical outcomes, not just activity. Here is what you actually walk away with once Cloud Engineering is in place - and how we make sure it pays for itself.
Scales on demand
Handle traffic spikes without falling over - infrastructure grows and shrinks with your load.
Secure & resilient
Hardened setups, backups and disaster recovery keep your systems safe and available.
Lower cloud bills
We right-size and optimise, so you pay for what you need - not what you forgot to turn off.
Is Cloud Engineering right for you?
Cloud Engineering is for teams who need their infrastructure to just work - fast, secure and always on - without a full-time platform team to babysit it. It tends to be the right call when:
- ✓Your app struggles or falls over when traffic spikes
- ✓Deployments are manual, nerve-wracking and easy to get wrong
- ✓Your cloud bill keeps climbing and nobody's quite sure why
- ✓You need dependable uptime, backups and a real recovery plan
- ✓You're moving off ageing servers and want to do it without downtime

A clear, low-risk process
No black boxes and no surprises. You see working progress at every step - from the first call through design, build and launch - and always know exactly what comes next.
Discover
We dig into your goals, users and constraints - and agree exactly what success looks like, and how we'll measure it, before any work begins.
Design
We map the solution end to end - architecture, flows and scope - so everyone knows what we're building, and why, before we build it.
Build
We deliver in short, visible iterations with working software every week, so you see real progress and can steer as we go.
Launch & support
We ship to production, measure the results against your goals, and keep improving - you're never left with something half-finished.

Which cloud providers do you work with?
The major ones - AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. We'll recommend whichever fits your needs, budget and existing stack rather than pushing a favourite.
If you're already on one of them, we'll usually build on what you have instead of moving you for the sake of it.
Can you migrate our existing systems to the cloud?
Yes, and we do it in careful stages so the business keeps running throughout. We map what you have, plan the move, and shift things piece by piece rather than all at once.
Where we can, we run old and new side by side until we're confident, so there's a safe fallback at every step and no dramatic cut-over.
How do you keep our cloud bill under control?
A few ways: we right-size resources so you're not paying for capacity you never use, set up scaling so you only pay for what you actually need at any moment, and turn on cost monitoring so surprises get caught early.
It's common for a bit of tidying up here to pay for itself. We'll also flag the handful of things that quietly cost the most, so you can decide what's worth keeping.
What does 'scalable' actually mean for us?
It means your infrastructure grows and shrinks with demand automatically. When traffic spikes - a launch, a busy season, a marketing push - it adds capacity; when things quieten down, it scales back so you're not paying for idle servers.
The upshot is that success doesn't break your product, and a quiet week doesn't waste your budget.
What happens if something goes down at 2am?
We set up monitoring and alerting so problems are detected quickly - often before your users notice - and build in redundancy so a single failure doesn't take everything down.
Backups and a tested recovery plan mean that even in a worst case there's a clear, practised path back. The goal is boring, dependable uptime.
Do we need our own DevOps or platform engineer?
No. We can set things up to run quietly and hand you sensible, automated tooling - deployments at the click of a button, dashboards that show what matters - that a normal development team can operate.
If you'd like ongoing help keeping it healthy, we can do that too; either way you're not forced to hire a specialist just to keep the lights on.
How do automated deployments help us?
Instead of a risky, manual release that only one person knows how to do, code goes out through a tested, repeatable pipeline - usually in a few minutes, with checks along the way and an easy way to roll back.
That means you can ship improvements more often and with far less stress, and a mistake becomes a quick undo rather than a crisis.
Is our data safe and backed up?
Yes. We harden the setup so it's secure by default, restrict access to who genuinely needs it, and put automated backups in place - then we actually test that those backups restore, because an untested backup isn't really a backup.
If you have compliance requirements about where data lives, we build to them.
How is this priced?
Setup and migration work is scoped and quoted up front, like any project. The ongoing cloud costs are paid to your provider directly and, after our optimisation, are usually lower and more predictable than before.
We're transparent about both, so you can clearly see the difference between what you pay us to build it and what it costs to run.
We're not sure what our infrastructure needs - can you assess it?
Yes, that's a great place to start. We'll review what you're running now, where the risks and costs are, and what 'good' would look like for your stage.
You'll get a clear picture and a prioritised plan - and it's completely fine to tackle the most urgent piece first rather than everything at once.
